Jordan Mayfield, LSCSW LCAC

Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor

Jordan Mayfield, LSCSW, LCAC received her master’s degree from The University of Kansas in 2012. She is also licensed as a clinical addiction counselor and has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

Jordan has worked in the social service field for the last 10 years providing direct care services for the last seven. Most recently she worked in Topeka providing outpatient psychotherapy to adults. She is also licensed to treat individuals and families with substance use concerns as a secondary diagnosis. Jordan has experience treating a variety of compulsive behaviors such as gambling, pornography and internet use, as well as self-harm, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Jordan also conducts marriage and relationship therapy, and individual and family therapy for adolescents, adults, helping professionals, and caregivers. She treats issues of sexuality, including gender dysphoria, understanding and acclimating to sexual attraction.  She's taken over 1,000 hours of Love and Logic training focused on therapy, training and class facilitation with parents. Jordan has trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which focuses on teaching clients skills in distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills empower clients to regulate their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors to create a life they see as worth living.

Jordan's therapy style is down to earth, focused on client’s strengths and resilience and validating of the inherent struggles life has to offer at times. She looks forward to learning more about you and walking with you on your journey.

Jordan accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, United, Ambetter, and Cigna. She does not accept KanCare (Medicaid). She appears on the KanCare United and Aetna panels in order to provide supervision to junior staff. She does not accept any form of Medicare.

From Dr. Wes: Jordan is a great addition to our staff, bringing talent and experience in a broad array of service models for teens, families, couples and adults. She scored highly on our entrance and work sample tests and I believe you'll find she makes a strong connection with those she serves. I also look forward to having a second staff member who has experience working with substance abuse and behavioral addiction.

While we still don't serve primary substance abuse cases, we can extend our services to better meet dual diagnosis cases not requiring more intensive outpatient or inpatient substance abuse treatment. If this sounds like you, Jordan can do an intake and make a full determination. Jordan also compliments Kelly Hughes, LSCSW who has worked for several years in the field of eating disorders, by seeing clients who have issues of disordered eating.
