Family Psychological Services works with college-aged adults by providing a supportive space to navigate the transition from adolescence into independent adulthood. Many students and young adults face new pressures related to academics, identity, relationships, finances, work, and separation from home. Our staff begin by understanding your current challenges, personal strengths, cultural background, and goals for growth. We help you manage existing concerns, like anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, social concerns, family conflict, or difficulty adjusting to campus or work life with cognitive behavioral strategies, emotion regulation skills, mindfulness, problem-solving, and support for healthier routines around sleep, motivation, boundaries, and self-care.
Our goal is always to become a well-differentiated adult with confidence, resilience, emotional insight, and effective coping skills to make decisions about school, career, relationships, and adulthood.

All staff have taken specialized training in Acceptance Commitment Therapy, an advanced form of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Some staff are trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Gilah Weissman and Oleg Mironchenko offer both well-established and cutting edge medication management for anxiety. They keep up on the latest developments in med management to offer you the best fit treatment for your symptoms.

We emphasize collaboration, choice, and practical tools you can use between sessions.

With consent, we may work with parents, physicians, campus resources, or other supports to coordinate care. For YAs living at home we address communication, expectations, and changing roles.
