About Nikki...

In her sessions, Nikki draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help identify and reach client treatment goals. She also utilizes ACT in her teen psychosocial Dungeons and Dragons group as a way to approach difficult situations or topics in a safe setting to help identify and reach client treatment goals. She constructs her interventions around a strengths perspective to create a safe and judgement-free space to approach difficult conversations and challenges. In doing so, Nikki identifies and utilizes strengths and supports found within her clients themselves, their families, and communities to learn new ways of coping with and overcoming stressors. Nikki emphasizes getting to know her clients and collaborating with the client so she can meet them where they are at on their therapeutic journey.
 

Nikki’s personal style is relatable, supportive, and creative, maximizing a positive therapeutic relationship and helping support her clients during difficult topics and concerns. She believes that everyone wants to do well and be well and she is committed to helping individuals by supporting them in strengthening old coping skills and developing new ones to improve in their daily lives and help them towards a more positive future.

Before coming to FPS, Nikki worked as a Children and Family Services Clinician in a local community mental health center seeing a diverse range of children and teens with depression, anxiety, self-harm behaviors, ADHD, and adjustment disorders, as well as those experiencing concerns around gender identity and sexual attraction. Nikki also led DBT groups for teens and adults
