About Aliya...

Aliya’s therapeutic style is warm, compassionate, and genuine. She understands that starting therapy can take courage, and she works to help clients feel welcomed, respected, and able to move at a pace that feels manageable. Grounded in a strengths-based perspective, Aliya helps clients notice their own capacity for growth, challenge negative self-talk, recognize resilience, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.

Using systems theory and the person-in-environment perspective, Aliya works with clients to understand the internal and external stressors that shape their well-being. She values empowerment and autonomy, helping clients identify meaningful goals while recognizing progress along the way. Aliya prioritizes a trusting, open, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported, understood, and heard.

Aliya also recognizes the importance of intersectionality, lived experience, and each client’s own expertise in their story. She believes therapy works best when it is responsive rather than one-size-fits-all, and she enjoys tailoring treatment to each person’s needs, goals, and strengths. Her work incorporates psychoeducation and skills from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and is welcoming clients working through PTSD and trauma.

Aliya has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across a variety of supportive settings. She has provided care for survivors of sexual and domestic violence through the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center and completed her graduate internship with the Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center WRAP Team, where she offered individual therapy to elementary-aged students in the school setting. She also brings experience in child welfare and crisis intervention, providing community-based support to individuals and families during times of stress and transition.
