Family Psychological Services provides developmentally-informed, evidence-informed mental health care for children and teens facing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and family challenges. Our staff help young people better understand themselves, build healthy coping skills, improve communication, and strengthen relationships at home, school, and in the community. For children, services often focus on concerns such as anxiety, mood difficulties, attention and behavior problems, adjustment to family changes, social struggles, school stress, and emotional regulation. Therapy is tailored to the child’s age and developmental level, often involving parents or caregivers so progress can continue outside the office. For teens, Family Psychological Services offers a supportive place to talk honestly about anxiety, depression, stress, identity development, peer relationships, family conflict, academic pressure, life transitions, and decision-making. Clinicians work to help adolescents develop resilience, self-awareness, problem-solving skills, and healthier patterns of communication. A central strength of the practice is its family-centered approach. Rather than viewing children or teens in isolation, Family Psychological Services considers the broader family system, school environment, and developmental context. The goal is to help young people feel understood, supported, and equipped to grow into healthier, more confident versions of themselves.

Our child and teen staff are specially trained to engage with youth across the developmental spectrum, from age five through eighteen. They understand how children grow emotionally, socially, and cognitively and provide age-appropriate guidance, encouragement, structure, and care to met each client where they are.

Gilah Weissman and Oleg Mironchenko offer integrative, evidence-based medication management for children and teens, in consultation with clinical staff to support emotional wellness, improve daily functioning, and help families make informed decisions about treatment options.

When working with families of children and teens, we emphasize consent-based collaboration, and daily practices that strengthen communication, build independence, support consistent routines, and enhance family engagement while helping parents feel more prepared, connected, and successful.

Kelly Wiechman and Jessica Barron offer an array of testing options for children and teens, providing evaluations to help clarify learning, attention, emotional, and behavioral concerns while guiding families, schools, and providers toward meaningful recommendations, supportive strategies, and appropriate next steps.
