Kelly’s treatment approach is client-centered, practical, and grounded in creating a professional space where clients can process their experiences openly. She often uses a reality-based perspective while drawing from cognitive behavioral interventions, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and motivational interviewing. Kelly believes that effective treatment requires understanding the full context of a person’s life, including cultural background, current stressors, family relationships, medical and genetic factors, and the systems that influence day-to-day functioning. She views motivation and willingness as the core of meaningful progress and is committed to meeting clients where they are while working collaboratively toward symptom management, healthier coping, and improved well-being.
Prior to joining FPS, Kelly worked extensively with incarcerated individuals within the Kansas prison system, including both adult and juvenile populations. She brings experience as both a therapist and psychological evaluator, with a strong background in clinical assessment for the Kansas Department of Corrections since 2018. Her assessment work includes evaluating mood disorders, personality disorders, adaptive functioning, and other areas of psychopathology. Kelly has also provided treatment for a broad range of concerns, including trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and adjustment difficulties. In addition, she has supported clients navigating grief and loss, identity concerns, addiction, and significant life changes.
